Annual Church Picnic

Worship service at 10:30 a.m. followed by our annual congregational picnic of hamburgers, hot dogs, and brats. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share. Site is Broad Ripple Park, large shelter with stage area, use back entrance.

Brunches

One Sunday each month, we gather at 9:30 a.m. for a pitch-in brunch. This is a good time—between services—to meet others in the congregation.

Dining In

Dining In groups organize annually. They meet monthly in each other's homes for an evening of homemade food and fun.

Dining Out

All adults are welcome each month to "Dine Out" at a selected Indianapolis restaurant. You may sign up to host—which means you pick the restaurant and make the reservation.

Bridge Nutz

A bridge club meets monthly at a member's home, on the second Sunday of the month.

Off the Beaten Path Book Club

A women's book club meets about every other month to discuss a book selection and share desserts.

Men's Breakfast

About once a month, men of the congregation gather for breakfast on Saturday morning at 7:30. We have speakers on various topics.

Summer Activities

The summer brings fellowship around Lemonade on the Lawn each Sunday, and everyone looks forward to the outdoor worship service and annual church picnic toward the end of the summer.

Advent & Christmas

We annually celebrate the feast of St. Lucia, which is special to Scandinavian Americans. Women of the congregation gather for Advent by Candlelight, an evening of calmness and serenity, dessert and devotions. On Christmas Eve we have punch and Christmas cookies between the evening services.

Lenten Events

The day before Lent starts, we prepare a traditional Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper for everyone. On Wednesdays during Lent, beginning with Ash Wednesday, we have Soup and Salad dinners at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Lenten service of Evening Prayer.

Other Special Events

From time to time other special events are publicized in the Blaze newsletter and in the Sunday bulletin.
